research focus:

Dr. Daughters research focuses on how progenitor cells acquire one cell fate over another, contribute to and are maintained during the development of tissues or organs and are activated during growth and regeneration. These questions are addressed in the context of myogenesis and cardiogenesis using both mouse and Xenopus model systems.
