External Advisory Committee

The External Advisory Committee (EAC) is responsible for assessing scientific progress across the PCBC. This charge includes both progress within the PCBC components, as well as the functionality of interactions between the Research Hubs, the ACC, and the Cores. The EAC will attend the annual PCBC Investigators’ meeting, and provide feedback to NHLBI on PCBC progress on an annual basis. In addition, the EAC will carry out a formal review of the PCBC at the mid-point of the program, during the fourth year of funding. The EAC also serves as the review panel for the distribution of funds set-aside through the ACC for Cores, Pilot Studies, and Ancillary and Collaborative Studies. The EAC will review applications submitted through the ACC in response to PCBC RFAs, and make recommendations to NHLBI for funding. NHLBI Program staff will determine funding based on the EAC reviews and consideration of programmatic balance.
